About Me

Follower of Christ, wife, daughter, sister, teacher, friend. Those are a few of the characteristics I’m most known for. I have been a believer since I was a child but I actively renewed my faith in college and have never looked back. My husband, Eddie and I are faithfully serving in the ministry of our current church while preparing to launch a church plant in the next few years. We love learning (not a surprise for a teacher 😉 and studying about our interests. We both read a few dozen books each year. We are introverts and we like it!

Eddie and I have been married for almost four years and it has been the greatest adventure of my life. He has awakened a creativity I never knew I had. This blog and my other writing projects are a result of his inspiration and loving support. Honestly, if it wasn’t for his encouragement, I would have never picked up the pen.

One of my passions has always been teaching. I taught elementary school for 5 years before taking a break to start a family. Teaching primary students was a blessing. Seeing young children learn to read and absorb information is one of the many joys of the career. While teaching in the public school system, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Reading Education. As a certified reading specialist, I enjoy coaching children in reading and creating instructional materials to benefit teachers, students, and families. Education has completely changed my life and I want to provide that opportunity for others.

Looking into the future, I would love to take my educational experience and apply it to educational consulting and instructional training. I have written a few children’s books that I would like to get published as well. Currently, you can follow me on Twitter @Ashley_B_Hinkle and get my free or paid teaching resources at Teachers Pay Teachers. I pray that this blog is an encouragement to you and feel free to leave any comments or questions. Thanks for taking the time to read about me!
